Each quarter, you will have the opportunity to attend a workshop at one of our training locations in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. These free workshops are designed for those students who want additional support. While not a compulsory part of the course, it’s reassuring to know that you can meet up with trainers and peers on a regular basis, if necessary.

To fit around your weekday commitments, our quarterly workshops are held on Saturdays. True to our flexible style of teaching, we welcome student feedback on the suitability of dates and locations and we always consider rescheduling to suit where necessary. To help you plan ahead, we invite you to book into each quarterly workshop up to 45 days before the event.

(Places must be registered at least 30 days ahead of the event, are subject to change and minimum numbers apply).

Trainer Support 

At Ivy we believe there’s no such thing as too much support.

Your experienced trainer is available to support you at every stage of the course. Upon enrolment you will be contacted directly by your trainer for a personal introduction. Throughout your studies you may contact your trainer with any course-related query by logging into myIVY, telephone, LiveChat or video conference – based on your needs. As you may be juggling study with work or other commitments your trainer is also available to assist at designated times outside of business hours.

If you would like additional support you also have access to free workshops each quarter, where you can gain one-on-one support from your trainer.  Workshop attendance is optional.

Technical Support

To keep you on course, we help you stay online. Our technical support team is available to assist you with password resets, myIVY features and functionality and other general technical enquiries.  Simply raise a support ticket through myIVY or telephone during business hours.

We’re here to help you realise your true career potential. So our support doesn’t end with your study. As you approach graduation, we’re available to assist you with a range of complimentary career support services to ensure you are ‘job-ready’ and can hit the ground running. Entry requirements

To enrol in this course, you will need to speak and write in English to at least Year 12 level. You will also need to have one of the following:

  • Australian Year 12 or equivalent; OR
  • a Certificate IV; OR
  • be aged over 20 and have demonstrated skills acquired through work experience; OR
  • within the Admissions Interview be able to demonstrate that you have the skills and capability to succeed in the course.

Technology requirements

Once enrolled, you will complete your course work and assessment tasks through myIVY, the College’s online learning platform. To do this, you will need access to a computer that meets the following minimum systems requirements:

Operating system: Windows, Mac OS X, Linux

Software: Adobe Acrobat Reader (latest versions available for free download at Adobe website)

Internet: Supported browsers include Firefox 3+, Google Chrome 4+, Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and 8, Opera 9+, Safari 3+ (download latest browser software for free online).  You will need a reliable internet connection, preferably Broadband (64 Kbit/sec or faster)

Access to a printer and digital camera/recording device is also required.

Educational Outcomes

On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded the following nationally recognised qualification: BSB50207 Diploma of Business.

This course can also act as the foundation for continuing your business studies at Advanced Diploma or Bachelor level.

Pam Harris

“I am passionate about making learning relevant and enjoyable, and helping people make tomorrow better than today.”

 

Pam has more than twenty years experience in the field of learning and development, which began at Westpac after completing a Bachelor of Arts Dip Ed. Pam has managed the training function for Chase Bank, The State Chamber of Commerce and Arnott’s Biscuits.  Pam was also a financial adviser for AMP’S Financial Service for Women.

Pam has firsthand experience operating a business, as Principal of her own consulting business since 1992.  Pam focuses on areas such as effective business writing, communication skills and assertiveness, handling difficult people, managing conflict, management and leadership skills and has worked across multiple industries.   Pam is accredited to offer DiSC Behavioural Styles Profile and Myers Briggs Personality Type Instrument.

In addition to holding a university degree, Pam also holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Diploma of Management.
